Knife Defence Classes

Knife Defence Tactics ©
I believe this is the most important area of physical training that you can do, although the main focus is Knife Defence we are also concerned about Needles, Bottles and Screwdrivers, basically anything that is able to penetrate or cut the body.

You'd be amazed to find out that around 20% of the students that train here have been in a Real Life Knife Defence situation. I know this because we have been running Knife Defence seminars at our school for years and we always ask students if this has happened to them and if it did then what happened.

We then use their experiences as our training drills.

Don't get the wrong impression about the people that train here, these are normal every day people and the amazing thing is 90% never reported what happened to the police.

Knife Defence Training Melbourne

My interest in Knife Defence Training results from having been in a real life Knife Defence situation myself as well as several Instructors that train here and our friends, students and family members having also survived similar situations.

"If you're not learning Knife Defence at your martial arts school then you're not really learning Self Defence in my opinion. Because when you need it most, when some idiot pulls out a knife and starts threatening you or the people you care about with it , you won't know what to do despite years of martial arts training" For more information please see our Knife Attacks in Melbourne or Knife Defence Seminars pages.

What does knife defence training cover?

The main focus is knife defence, but we also train against needles, bottles, screwdrivers and anything else that can cut or penetrate the body.

How common are real knife incidents?

Around 20% of students who train at our dojo have been in a real life knife situation, and about 90% of them never reported it to the police. They are normal, everyday people.

How are your knife defence drills designed?

We ask students who have faced a real knife situation what happened, then use their experiences as our training drills, so the training reflects what actually happens.

Is knife defence part of regular classes?

Yes. Most of our knife defence training is done in regular adults and Junior Adults classes. We also run specialist knife defence seminars several times a year.

How much is the trial?

Just $19.95 for 4 classes, plus a new uniform to keep (valued at $124.95). We run separate trials for children, teens and adults at 272 Dundas St, Thornbury VIC 3071. Simply fill in the short form, choose your preferred day and time, then pay online after booking to lock in your spot. If it's not for you, just ask for a refund, and if you join, the $19.95 comes off your membership. Your first class starts the clock, and you then have 15 days to enjoy your remaining 3 classes. We recommend training at least twice a week. New skills stick best with regular practice, so twice a week is the sweet spot for learning and remembering techniques.

Who teaches the classes?

Craig Guest, who started studying Bujinkan Ninjutsu in 1990 and has made 20 trips to Japan for training. Ninjutsu Melbourne has been sharing Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi's training with students since 1998.
